Janice Hung returns as Bathalumang Ether in 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre'

Janice Hung made her return to the world of Encantadia when she reprised her role as Bathalumang Ether in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre."

On Monday's episode, Ether appeared in a flashback scene along with the other deities of Encantadia, Arde, Emre, and Gargan (Tom Rodriguez).

Janice said on Facebook that it felt "like coming home" to once again play Ether.

"This time, I finally get to show the side of her that many never knew—the Ether who once stood in alliance with Emre, guided by purpose, wisdom, and light," said the wushu artist.

"To everyone who wished, waited, and hoped to see her again... Avisala Eshma, mga Encantadiks. Your love brought her back to life, even for a moment."

In the 2016 remake of "Encantadia," Ether was a villain who sided with Etheria and Hagorn against those who worship Emre as the supreme deity.

She briefly appeared earlier in "Sang'gre" when she encountered Mitena (Rhian Ramos) in Mine-a-ve.

Before she became a villain, however, she once helped Emre and Arde against Gargan, the god of darkness, chaos, and destruction.

"This flashback reminds us that even the fiercest deities have a history of grace… and behind every legend is a story worth remembering—and retelling," Janice said.

"Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8:05 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it on YouTube via the Kapuso Stream.
