Miss Universe 2025 Fátima Bosch responds to hate messages: 'No insult will turn off my purpose'
Newly crowned Miss Universe 2025 Fátima Bosch has spoken up against the wave of online hate she has been receiving following her win.
On Instagram, the Mexican beauty queen shared screenshots of offensive comments and threats sent to her after she earned Mexico its fourth Miss Universe crown.
"In recent days, I have received insults, attacks, and even death wishes for one reason only: because I won," she said.
"And although these attacks hurt, they don't define me," she added. "What defines me is my strength, my integrity, and the love I have for my country and for the women around the world I represent."
Fátima said she decided to address the negativity to turn her experience into advocacy.
"Violence against women does not always appear in the form of blows. Sometimes it appears in words, in digital hatred, in mockery, in campaigns to destroy our dignity," she wrote.
"But today, I'm here to say something with absolute clarity: no attack will make me kneel, no insult will turn off my purpose," she added.
She emphasized that her victory is not meant to threaten anyone.
"My victory is a reminder that women are resilient, capable and powerful," she said. "We are not here to meet the expectations of others, we are here to transform the world."
Fátima also empathized with victims of abuse.
"I will not remain silent. I'm going to use this platform to make it visible that they are not alone," she said.
"To all the women who feel fear, who experience violence, who have been silenced: I see you, I honor you, and I use my voice for you," she added.
Fátima ended her post by reaffirming her commitment of using her platform as Miss Universe 2025 to defend, speak, and fight for women.
"I will continue to fight for a world where no one is attacked for being who she is or for daring to shine, or getting out of the mold that society has marked," she said.
"There is a lot of work to do, and my commitment is and will continue to use that crown for good," she added.
Fátima bested 120 candidates from all over the world to win Miss Universe 2025. Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo was named third runner-up.
The Miss Universe 2025 pageant was marred by several controversies from pre-pageant events up until after the coronation, including allegations of rigged results.
