Heath Jornales gets Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift comparisons for songwriting skills

Heath Jornales wowed with his songwriting skills after his mini concert in "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" last week.

Now that the full video of his "The Moon and the Stars" is on YouTube, fans are expressing their admiration for the young actor's talent.

Some commented that he should release an album of his original songs and compared him to international artists.

"Heath is a revelation! His songs remind of the goat Taylor Swift. He has this skill of writing lyrics you would definitely never forget and fall for," said one fan.

"Ganda ng mga songs ni Heath. Very indie country folk genre sarap sa tenga ng gitara tapos boses niya parang mga naunang album ni Ed Sheeran. Pang Netflix series soundtrack 'yung mga kantahan," another said.

Others said Heath's music reminds them of Owl City and One Direction.

"Kinikilabutan ako ang galing niyang mag-compose grabe 'yung impluwensya sa kanya ng foreign bands and singers," a commenter said.

Heath performed five of his original songs: "Coffee shop," "Ikaw pa rin hanggang ngayon," "Summer nights," "Promised land," and "Back to you." He said the songs are about two girls he previously had feelings for.

He sang the only Tagalog song solo with just his guitar, while his backup singers (Carmelle Collado, Princess Aliyah, Ashley Sarmiento, John Clifford, Fred Moser, and Lee Victor) accompanied him for the English songs.

Heath had the highest votes among the Kapuso housemates nominated last weekend, making him safe from eviction.

"Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" airs on GMA Network weeknights at 9:40 p.m., Saturdays at 6:15 p.m., and Sundays at 10:05 p.m. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
