'Tanghalan ng Kampeon' judges discuss 2025 grand champ Bjorn Marta's win

Bjorn Marta emerged as the grand champion of TiktoClock's Tanghalan ng Kampeon with a score of 14/15 stars.

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday, judges Jessica Villarubin, Daryl Ong, and Renz Verano admitted they had a tough time judging the talent segment.

"Choosing the last two finalists was tough," Renz said. "We've had discussions, and weighed pros and cons. We really had to listen to them [closely]."

According to Daryl, the winner shared a similar R&B style with a number of contestants but it was only Bjorn who was able to get Renz's attention.

"Maraming sumal? na R&B ang style, pero siya lang yung nakahuli ng kiliti ng Kuya Renz," Daryl said.

"Nung nakita ko reaction ni Kuya Renz, sa luob-luob ko, 'sa wakas may nakapasa na nag R&B!'" He said, adding Bjorn had that distinct X factor.

Jessica meanwhile recalled Bjorn's performance during finals. "Para siya nag-concert," the Kapuso singer said, adding he was very relaxed. "May magic talaga siya," Jessica added.

For Renz, Bjorn was a natural. "Meron siyang mga laro sa notes, mga scale at mga runs, mga kukulot na paano niya nagawa 'yon? Sabi ko, iba 'to," Renz said.

"Natural sa kanya. 'Yung iba, inaral kasi," he added.

Bjorn performed Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" and bested five other grand finalists. 

He took home the grand prize of P500,000 and a home appliance package worth P75,000, which were presented to him by GMA Entertainment Group Officer-in-Charge Cheryl Ching-Sy and Consultant for Entertainment Group Darling De Jesus-Bodegon. 

At Friday's "Fast Talk," he said he had three songs ready for recording. — LA, GMA Integrated News
