Mayonnaise gets on stage with Jopay Paguia at the Sexbomb Girls reunion concert
Mayonnaise just performed their hit song “Jopay” with none other than Jopay Paguia on the second night of Sexbomb Girls’ reunion concert!
On social media, the OPM band shared photos of their frontman, Monty Macalino, on stage with Jopay on Tuesday night. The two were all smiles as they shared a hug.
“Thank you always to the one and only [Jopay Paguia-Zamora]. Congratulations Sexbomb Girls,” the band wrote.
This isn’t the first time Mayonnaise and Jopay performed together. In 2023, they performed in a concert in Lucena, Quezon Province.
The Sexbomb member was the inspiration behind the band’s iconic song. In a 2023 episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” Monty revealed that he wrote “Jopay” in 2003 after seeing the dancer act in the Lenten special of “Eat Bulaga!” and got the idea of writing a love song for a celebrity.
Jopay also revealed that she was supposed to be in the music video but was busy with Sexbomb at the time.
The song was released in 2005 and remains one of OPM’s top hits.
The Sexbomb Girls’ held a two-day concert on December 4 and 9 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The group rose to fame through its daily appearances on a noontime TV variety show. Later, the Sexbomb Girls starred in the afternoon soap, "Daisy Siete," and became top recording artists.
