Sofia Mallares of Project Z, Yana Goopio of Team Bilib, Marian Ansay of JuleSquad, and Giani Sarita of Benkada are gearing up to take the stage as finalists in “The Voice Kids.”

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Wednesday, the young contestants and their coaches shared how they are balancing excitement, nerves, and the lessons.

“Kami ni Sofia po, sobrang excited and kinakabahan kasi first time namin parehong sasabak sa finals. Ako, before po kasi nung nag-'The Voice' din ako nun, ‘di ako nakaabot ng finals, hanggang battles lang, so ibang experience po and very excited pareho,” Zack Tabudlo said.

“Favorite part ko? 'Yung journey po na kaming mga contestants po kasi naging friends po kami. And isa pa ‘yung mga coaching sessions,” Sofia said.

Ben&Ben’s Paolo and Miguel Guico described Giani as the embodiment of what they hoped to develop in their team.

“I think ang qualities ni Giani ay ‘yung goal namin nung simulang-simula sa Benkada, siya ‘yung nag-e-embody nun, which is kakaiba siya. Kakaiba ‘yung taglay niyang musicality, ‘yung taglay niyang vocal quality, at saka 'yung overall energy niya bilang performer. Naiiba talaga siya,” Miguel said.

“Ang natutunan ko po sa coach ko is mostly about life po,  also na din po sa pagkanta and feeling the song and what voices to use, mixed voice ba, chest voice ba, or kung tama ba 'to or mali,” Giani said.

For Julesquad’s Marian Ansay, guidance came not just from coach Julie Anne San Jose but also from her brother, Allen Ansay.

“‘Pag may dream ka, ‘di ka dapat mag-give up,” Marian said. She added that Allen often reminds her to feel the song to connect better with the audience.

“Hindi talaga ako nagkamali sa kaniya, sa pagpili, since Blind Auditions. Since day one, siya ‘yung sobrang consistent, sobrang eager talaga siya to learn and to listen and sobrang hardworking niya na bata kaya naman talagang deserving niyang maging finallist ng 'The Voice Kids' and she is one of the best contenders I have ever [handled]” Julie said.

Team Bilib’s finalist Yana shared that the excitement has kept her restless as the finale approaches.

“Sobrang excited po ako, as in parang hindi na ako makatulog..." she said.

“Abangan na lang kung sino ang magwawagi. Sa Team Bilib ba manggagaling? I just wanna say it's gonna be a good competition—good, fun, clean competition. I’m excited,” Billy Crawford said.

The finale of “The Voice Kids” will air on Sunday at 7 p.m. on GMA Network.
