PBB Collab 2.0: Housemates tackle green jokes issue through talk show 'Bakit Ba'
The “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemates discussed the issue of green jokes through the segment “Bakit Ba.”
The girls and boys were separated into groups, with houseguest Shuvee Etrata acting as the middleman for the talk show.
Pero ayun, ‘yun ‘yung kailangan kong i-work on. May mga pwedeng sabihin and may mga bawal.”
Lee Victor then asked the girls, “Bakit ba hindi niyo kami kaagad kinausap patungkol sa mga jokes na hindi niyo nagustuhan?”
Krystal Mejes said they first sought the other girls’ validation “if sensitibo nga lang kami or if we’re taking things too personally, or it’s actually wrong and we have to do something about it."
“They’re a man and we don’t know how they’re gonna react especially when it comes to that very sensitive topic.”
She added that the girls are also concerned about how the boys will be perceived in the outside world. “Because we care about them a lot.”
Krystal later said in the Confession Room that she is really not a confrontational person.
“Na-realize ko po na I would really move mountains and I would really go far for the people I love,” she said.
Lee said he understood the girls more because of the discussion.
“So ano ‘yung kailangan kong gawin? Kailangan kong mas maging careful. Be more aware, be more observant sa paligid,” he said, adding that he will be more mature and emotionally intelligent.
Earlier this week, the girls confronted the boys about their green jokes, telling them that they do not want to be objectified. The boys, Inigo, Lee, and Miguel Vergara particularly, were called out for saying "GYAT," which stands for "Girl, your a-s thick."
"'Yun lang 'yung gusto namin dito is for you guys to not objectify us," Krystal told them. "Even if it's funny in your head it's really not right."
In the Confession Room, Lee added, "As a gentleman, I should have known better. Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit namin pinagpapatuloy 'yung mga ganong jokes, alam namin na masama na 'yun, masagwa, pero tinutuloy tuloy pa rin namin."
Inigo shed tears following the confrontation. He apologized to the girls, saying he's open to change and that he has respect for women.
Miguel also said he should not have tolerated the boys. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
