Vince Maristela, Ralph de Leon weigh in on green joke issue on ‘PBB: Collab 2.0’
The recent episodes of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” were met with flak from netizens after certain male housemates made inappropriate and green jokes pertaining to the female housemates.
During Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” PBB Collab 1 alums Vince Maristela and Ralph de Leon weighed in about the green jokes inside Bahay ni Kuya.
“Hindi lang po bilang ex-PBB housemate, bilang lalaki din po. Nakakalungkot po. Nakakalungkot talaga. I mean whether you are living in the same house, or in the same area with another woman, it shouldn’t be like that,” Ralph said.
According to the Kapamilya star, there should always be boundaries set and respect served.
“Nakakalungkot siya 'cause there should always be boundaries with what you say. There should always be that sort of respect with other people. Nakakalungkot talaga na nangyayari 'yon,” he added.
Like Ralph, Vince said that it’s also saddening to hear those inappropriate jokes, and believed that there should always be limitations on what we say.
“Totoo ‘yon Tito Boy. Like ako, lagi kong iniisip ‘yung mom and sister ko. Na mayroon akong mga kapatid na babae at nanay. Siyempre ‘yung mga ganyang bagay talaga Tito Boy, kailangan mo talaga magkaroon ng limitations,” he shared.
“Aminin ko talaga Tito Boy, minsan talaga 'yung mga guys pag nagsasama-sama nag-jojoke pero hindi naman towards to a girl,” Vince added.
Tito Boy also asked the two ex-housemates what they would do if they committed a similar act.
“Well ako talaga Tito Boy nag-s-sorry talaga agad ako lalo na kapag nalaman kong na-offend agad. Immediately,” Vince said.
“Ako po Tito boy, it’s hard. I mean you have to apologize, at the same time, you can’t repeat it again. 'Cause if just keeps happening, you keep apologizing and doing it again, it’s useless eh,” Ralph added.
Vince and Ralph were among the 20 housemates of PBB Collab 1.
They are set to star in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Love You So Bad” which also includes Will Ashley, Bianca De Vera, and Dustin Yu.
Previously in "PBB: Celebrity Collab 2.0," the girls confronted the boys about their green jokes, telling them that they do not want to be objectified. The boys, Iñigo Jose, Lee Victor, and Miguel Vergara in particular, were called out for saying "GYAT," which stands for "Girl, your a-s thick."
Following the confrontation, Iñigo shed tears in the confession room and apologized to the girls, saying he is open to change and that he has respect for women.
