Pokwang reveals viral pick-up truck driver is brother, apologizes to man pushing cart and daughter
Pokwang took to Instagram to set the record straight: The man in the viral video who hit another man pushing a kariton was her brother.
"Ako po ay humihingi ng pahumanhin sa nakaalitan ng aking kapatid na nag-viral po noong nakaraang araw at hanggang ngayon," the comedienne began her Instagram caption.
"Opo kapatid ko po ang lalaki sa video at hindi ko po kinatutuwa ang kanyang ginawa," she continued as she expressed dismay toward politicians who took advantage of the issue "imbes na tutukan ang tunay na problema ng bayan sa ngayon."
In the video, Pokwang once again acknowledged that the pick-up truck driver in the now-viral video is her brother.
Ang galing," the comedienne said, as she asked for forgiveness from the man pushing the kariton, as well as from his young daughter who witnessed the altercation.
“Pasensya ka na,” she said, promising to visit the daughter.
Pokwang reminded those who posted photos presenting the faces of her whole family, “may tinatawag po tayong cyberbullying and cyberlibel” and called out public officials from different places who posted about the incident.
In her statement, Pokwang thanked Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro "Jun" Alcantara Ynares III for fixing the problem.
Pokwang emphasized that she is not siding with her brother, and reminded officials to be careful with what they post.
In the viral video, Pokwang’s brother was seen cursing at the man pushing the kariton, even hitting him on the head in front of the man’s daughter, who was seen crying helplessly.
Pokwang’s brother also allegedly threatened to kill and shoot him.
The police has since identified the man pushing the kariton as Crispin VIllamor.
The vehicle of Pokwang’s brother was driving fast and nearly hit Villamor's daughter. While Villamor was initially able to maneuver his cart, the pickup truck still ended up hitting it. The altercation happened in Barangay San Roque in Antipolo City.
According to the Antipolo City Police, the pickup truck driver went to the police station to make amends with Villamor.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also issued a show-cause order against the driver, whose driver’s license was also placed under preventive suspension for 90 days.
