What Shuvee Etrata learned about motherhood while filming MMFF entry 'Call Me Mother'
At the star-studded premiere night of "Call Me Mother" in SM Megamall on Tuesday, Shuvee Etrata shared what she learned about motherhood.
"Hindi siya sa dugo lang," Shuvee told GMA Integrated News reporter Athena Imperial.
"As long as there's love, there's care, andun ang pag-aaruga, anybody can be called a mother," added the MMFF first-timer, who earlier thanked the film's lead star Vice Ganda for the opportunity.
In Imperial's report, Vice said it was exactly the movie's message and lesson.
"Ang pagiging nanay na hindi namang nakukulong sa sang hulma, sa kasarian, sa dugo," Vice began. "Marami na ngayong kahulugan ang pagiging nanay. Hindi siya ma-e-encapsulate or na-de-define ng isang salita. 'Yon ang ituturo ng pelikhalng ito," Vice said.
"Call Me Mother" follows Twinkle De Guzman (Vice Ganda), who starts the process of legally adopting Angelo (Lucas Andalio) to be her son, when Angelo’s biological mother Mara (Nadine Lustre) makes a surprise arrival and forms a special bond with Angelo.
Also present at the premiere were Nadine Lustre, cast members Mika Salamanca Brent Manalo, Klarisse De Guzman, River Joseph, Esnyr, John Lapus as well as "It's Showtime!" hosts Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Ion Perez, Ryan Bang, Vhong Navarro, and Jackie Gonzaga.
GMA Network SVP for Programming, Talent Management Worldwide, and GMA Films Oresident Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes was also present to show her support.
"Sana supohtahan natin ang lagat ng pelikula ngayong MMFF Pinaghirapan ito lahat, and nakikita ko na exciting, and mukhang ang gaganda ng lahat. And syempre abangan niyo ang mga kapuso stars sa mga pelikulang ito," Gozon-Valdes said.
