Ruru Madrid waxes sentimental as he looks back on ‘Green Bones'

Ruru Madrid waxed sentimental as he looked back on “Green Bones,” the film that marked a meaningful chapter in his life when it was released last year during the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival.

On Instagram, the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero posted moments from the film’s promotion season and shared how the film had changed his life.

“Isang pakiramdam na hinding-hindi ko malilimutan. Isang pagkakataong humubog sa akin at nagpabago sa aking buhay,” Ruru said.

“Isang paalala na kapag naniwala ka sa sarili mo, nagpupursigi ka, at naniniwala ka sa plano ng Panginoon — tunay na walang imposible,” he added.

He also emphasized the film’s message, “Maging mabuting tao.”

"Green Bones" is the official entry of GMA Pictures to 2024 MMFF, where it won several awards, including Best Actor for Dennis, Best Supporting Actor for Ruru, and Best Picture.

The film followed Xavier Gonzaga (Ruru), a young policeman determined to keep notorious criminal Domingo Zamora (Dennis) behind bars.

It became an official contender for the Philippines' 2026 Oscar entry.

Green Bones” is streaming on Netflix.
