Jackie Lou Blanco, Snooky Serna turn vulnerable, answer questions on relevance and quitting showbiz

Jackie Lou Blanco and Snooky Serna came together on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday to promote their new Afternoon Prime series "House of Lies."

The relaxed interview featured the seasoned actresses talking about Ricky Davao's crush on Snooky Serna, their first impressions of each other, and even turned vulnerable when Tito Boy asked them about their age, careers, relevance, and if quitting showbiz ever crossed their mind.

Jackie Lou admitted relevance became something of a concern for her "for a time."

"I would question na parang 'am I still wanted in the business? Would I be able to still get roles?'" She said.

But she got over it by reframing her thinking. "It's not being about relevant but about [being] as genuine as I can," she said.

According to Jackie Lou, relevance comes in many ways. "It's about how true you are to yourself, how you value yourself. And if you are, you'll always be relevant."

Snooky meanwhile said relevance right now doesn't matter anymore. "The important thing is I get to do what is willed for me to do, and I enjoy myself doing it."

When the conversation rolled towards whether or not they ever considered quitting, Jackie Lou said that while showbiz has certainly disappointed her, she never considered quitting.

It's the other way around for Snooky. "I was open about it. I got to a point where gusto ko na mag-quit," she said.

She returned to Tito Boy's question about relevance and said, "nagkaron ako ng child star syndrome. I don't want it to be about me. Thank God, I got over that."

"House of Lies" marks the first time the two actresses are working together.
