Catriona Gray celebrates 32nd birthday with fundraiser for kids with cleft lip, palate
Catriona Gray remains beautiful inside and out as she turns a year older.
On Instagram, the ever-iconic Miss Universe 2018 shared glamorous portraits to mark her 32nd birthday. She wore a sheer black dress that hugged her figure, featuring a thigh-high slit.
“Hey, 32,” the Filipino-Australian beauty queen wrote.
In a separate post, Catriona shared how she celebrated her birthday by hosting a fundraiser for Smile Train Philippines, a non-profit, non-government organization that provides free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children in need.
As a way of saying thank you, Catriona offered personalized video greetings to those who participated in her birthday fundraiser.
According to pediatrician Dr. Brigitte Ricalde on “Pinoy MD,” a cleft lip or cleft palate occurs when there is a failure of fusion of the lip or the palate during the baby’s formation while still in the mother’s womb.
Ricalde added that there are many reasons why a baby can develop a cleft lip or a cleft palate while still in the mother’s womb.
“Kasi ang cause ng cleft ay puwedeng multifactorial,” she said. “It’s either genetics, puwede din pong environmental factors may play a role sa development ng cleft.”
