Dasuri Choi opens up on being a former K-pop trainee: 'Parang they treat me as a product'
Dasuri Choi opened up about her life as a former K-pop trainee.
In the latest episode of "Your Honor," the Philippine-based South Korean entertainer said that she stopped pursuing her K-pop dreams due to the strict rules imposed on trainees.
"I became a K-pop trainee kasi gusto kong maging K-pop artist. Kaya lang super higpit, controlled life," Dasuri said.
"Hindi puwede magkajowa. Gusto ko magkaroon ng jowa pero bawal so mas gigil ako na parang hala bawal e 'di gagawin ko nga! 'Yun 'yung mindset ko."
Dasuri also said that when she was younger, she felt like she was treated as a product that entertainment companies had to sell.
"Tapos sabi ko, well now I understand kasi I'm adult now, pero that time noong bata ako parang they treat me as a product, like a selling product. 'Yun ang hindi ko ma-gets," she said.
"Ako kasi more on passion sa dancing and singing, everything. Pero sila naman, they judge us like 'business side' so 'yun medyo nalungkot ako doon. So I got out na. I stopped," Dasuri added.
In the same "Your Honor" interview, Dasuri looked back on her life in South Korea as a backup dancer for popular girl groups such as T-Ara and Wonder Girls.
Dasuri and her duo Rodjun Cruz were previously named the Ultimate Dance Star Duo of "Stars on the Floor," where they took home P1 million. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
