Gian Magdangal joins Lea Salonga onstage at 'Disney Legend Live in Concert' in Hong Kong Disneyland
Gian Magdangal and Lea Salonga shared the stage during a concert in Hong Kong Disneyland.
On Instagram, Gian's wife, Lara Maigue, shared a video of him performing “A Whole New World” with the Broadway star during the “Disney Legends Live in Concert Presents Lea Salonga” on January 10.
In the video, the Kapuso actor introduced himself to the audience and said that it was “truly an honor” to share the stage with the “legendary Lea Salonga.”
They performed the song together, with Gian taking on the male lines originally sung by Brad Kane in the 1992 Disney animated film “Aladdin.”
The “Disney Legend Live in Concert” featured a string ensemble from The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Disneyland Band, conducted by her brother, Maestro Gerald Salonga.
Aside from “A Whole New World,” Lea also sang some of the famous Disney songs, including Golden Globe-nominated "Reflection" from "Mulan," as well as "Let It Go" from "Frozen," and "Cinderella's" "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes."
Lea’s concert served as the grand finale of the theme park’s 20th anniversary celebrations, held across Hong Kong Disneyland until January 4.
Gian is a theater actor who's starred in musicals like "Ang Huling El Bimbo Musical," "Come From Away," "Dear Evan Hansen" in Singapore, and "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" under Repertory Philippines.
