Beauty Gonzalez, Kris Bernal all praises for each other in first collaboration in 'House of Lies'

Beauty Gonzalez and Kris Bernal are working with each other for the first time in the upcoming series, “House of Lies.” 

Premiering on January 19, the GMA Afternoon Prime series tells the gripping story of two women determined to secure their dream life and protect their families. However, ambition, deceit, and betrayal weave a dangerous web, building a house of lies.

Beauty stars as Marjorie, a devoted mother and loving wife to Paolo (Mike Tan), while Kris portrays Althea, a high-maintenance and insecure woman who is a strict mother to her daughter with Edward (Martin del Rosario).

At Monday’s media conference, Beauty and Kris shared the traits and quirks they admire about each other as they work together for the first time.

For Beauty, she commended Kris for arriving on set fully prepared without needing a script.

“Sobrang memorize niya ‘yung lines niya and you [Kris] should be proud of it,” she said. “I really want that habit na pwede ko bitawan ‘yung script ko.”

“Sometimes kasi I get so insecure with my Bisaya, my Tagalog, my English, naghalo-halo na ba, nag mash up na ba, kaya kailangan ko bitbitin script para lang sure ako sa linya ko,” she added.

Beauty also said she admires Kris for confidently pulling off high heels, such as Christian Louboutin styles.

“I would die for those shoes na kayang kaya niya,” she said. “Ang ganda kasi eh, iba ‘yung tindig mo, and she has a beautiful collection of shoes.”

For her part, Kris said that Beauty also comes prepared to every set and is easy to work with.

“The feeling is mutual kasi wala ka rin namang script sa set,” she said. “Ganun din naman si Beauty, alam niya ‘yung mga eksena, halatang pinag aralan niya kaya madali ka eksena.”

“House of Lies” marks Kris’ comeback series after taking a break from showbiz for three years.

Kris spent 18 years in the industry before stepping away from the spotlight after marrying Perry Choi in 2021 and giving birth to their daughter, Hailee, in 2023.
