Katya Santos on possible Viva Hot Babes reunion: ‘No reunion for us’
Katya Santos has said that a reunion of the Viva Hot Babes is not happening anytime soon.
The former Viva Hot Babes member posted on Facebook, Tuesday, where she addressed the buzz surrounding their possible reunion, saying, “No reunion for us.”
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to their fans who are hoping for a Viva Hot Babes reunion, but said that it is not on their priority list right now.
“Unfortunately, we all have our own different paths to prioritize right now. We love the idea but it may not happen anytime soon,” Katya shared, adding that they are deeply grateful for their contribution to Philippine pop culture.
“Not because of hype or comparison, but because we were part of a time that celebrated confidence, individuality, and fearless self-expression,” she continued.
According to Katya, the Viva Hot Babes was not just a group, but “a moment, a feeling, and a reflection of an era that many still remember fondly.”
“Yes, we are actresses and models. We never claimed to be professional dancers, and we were never meant to be,” she wrote.
“Our strength was always in our presence, our personalities, and our work across film, music, and media."
As she ended her message, Katya said that she respects everyone’s opinion and that they are proud of their work that still speaks to the current generation.
“We respect that everyone has opinions. Ours is simple. We’re proud of the work we did and grateful that it still resonates with people today,” she wrote.
Lastly, she thanked their fans for remembering the joy, confidence, and energy their group brought
“Some stories don’t need competition. They simply live on in memory. To everyone who has ever supported The Viva Hot Babes, thank you for seeing us for who we were, who we are, and who we continue to be: grateful, proud, and forever thankful for the love,” she wrote.
“We are who we are. We’ve always been. And we move forward with gratitude, not the need to prove anything. Viva Hot Babes — nothing more, nothing less."
Earlier, Katya’s fellow Viva Hot Babes member Andrea Del Rosario said that they are hoping to stage a reunion — and that they would love to do it together with the Sexbomb Girls.
“Of course, we’d love to. We’ve been doing a lot of out-of-town shows with the Hot Babes naman. It's just that siyempre ‘yung iba naging public service. Like ako, soap operas,” she had said on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."
“Now we just have to sit down one of these days. Hopefully one of these days. Hopefully we can do one with Sexbomb 'cause I’m a fan."
The Viva Hot Babes were a popular Filipino all-female dance in the early 2000s, known for their hit songs such as “Bulaklak.” The group is composed of Andrea, Katya, Maui Taylor, Gwen Garci, and Sheree Bautista, among others.
