Katya Santos on SexBomb-Viva Hot Babes comparison: 'Different styles, different strengths'

Katya Santos on SexBomb-Viva Hot Babes comparison: 'Different styles, different strengths'

The SexBomb Girls and Viva Hot Babes were never competitors, Katya Santos said.

In a lengthly Facebook post, the former member of Viva Hot Babes called the SexBomb Girls their "friends" and described them as “legendary in their own right.”

“Their recent concert success is a beautiful reminder of how much they are loved, and we sincerely congratulate them on that milestone,” Katya said.

While the two groups emerged during the same era, Katya said each was celebrated and appreciated for different reasons.

“Different styles. Different strengths,” she said.

“That’s not rivalry,” Katya added. “That’s coexistence, contribution, and shared history.”

According to Katya, "we’ve never positioned ourselves as competitors."

“We simply walked and gave our best to the audience who supported us,” she said.

In the same post, Katya said that they continue to appreciate fans of the Viva Hot Babes, but a reunion much like SexBomb's is simply not happening in the near future.

“Unfortunately, we all have our own different paths to prioritize right now. We love the idea, but it may not happen anytime soon,” she said.

In a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview, Viva Hot Babes member Andrea del Rosario admitted she is a fan of the SexBomb Girls.

Meanwhile, the SexBomb Girls had a reunion concert at the Araneta Coliseum on December 4 and the SM Mall of Asia Arena on December 9.

They are set to hold the “Rawnd 5” concert on February 8 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The third and fourth rounds of the show will take place on February 6 and 7.
