Filipino American students from Harvard University and Rutgers University visited GMA Network for a studio tour, giving them a closer look at the network’s programs, facilities, and broadcast operations.

The Harvard Undergraduate Philippine Forum, a student-run organization that promotes awareness and engagement with the Philippines, was welcomed at the GMA Network Center by Joseph Francia, FVP and head of operations of GMA International.

Their visit included a tour of Studio 2, home of “Balitanghali,” led by Mimoza “Mimi” T. Yapchiongco, Assistant Vice President for Systems and Support of GMA Integrated News, as well as stops at the DZBB and Barangay LS FM radio booths with Orly Trinidad and Papa Obet.

The group also had a meet-and-greet and short discussion with Boy Abunda.

Meanwhile, students from the Rutgers-Camden Learning Abroad Program also toured the network as part of the first-ever Rutgers Learning Abroad Program in the Philippines.

The delegation was welcomed by GMA International executives and visited DZBB and Barangay LS FM, where they met Orly Trinidad, Papa Ace, and Lady Gracia.

They also visited Studio 7 during the technical rehearsal of “All-Out Sundays” and had their photos taken with Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Mark Bautista, and Garrett Bolden.

The tour continued at Studio 5 with Reina Anne “Queenie” S. Dimapawi, Assistant Vice President and Deputy Head for Integrated News Operations, followed by a viewing of audio-visual presentations at the Network's mezzanine.

The visit aimed to introduce second-generation Filipino-Americans to GMA Network, its programs, artists, and GMA Pinoy TV, while strengthening cultural and media engagement during their stay in the Philippines. – Carby Basina/ LA, GMA Integrated News
