Rayver Cruz joins judges of ‘Stars on the Floor’ Season 2

Rayver Cruz is set to enter the second season of “Stars on the Floor” as part of the dance authority.

The Sparkle star will join returning judges Marian Rivera and choreographer coach Jay, as well as returning host Alden Richards.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Rayver admitted that while judging is new territory for him, excitement outweighs any pressure as he steps into the role for the first time.

“First time ko magju-judge, and mas nangunguna pa ‘yung excitement kasi nasubaybayan ko ‘yung Season 1 eh bilang nando’n si Rodjun,” Rayver said.

According to Rayver, watching the first season made him imagine himself being part of the show, whether as a contestant or performer, given his deep love for dance.

“Every time na napapanood ko ‘yung show na ‘yon, parang maiisip mo kasi na paano kung ako ‘yung nandoon or paano kung kasali ako doon, anong gagawin ko or parang may mga prods na parang sobrang ganda, gusto kong sumali, ganon. And ever since, bilang mahal na mahal ko ‘yung dance, isa rin talaga sa mga pangarap ko na mapasali sa ganitong klaseng show. Contestant man or kung ano man, way way back pa naisip ko na ‘yon,” he said.

He also reflected on the timing of the opportunity, calling it a blessing that he now gets to be part of Season 2 as a judge after his brother won Season 1. 

“Ang galing lang din ni Lord tsaka nung opportunity and nung pagkatadhana kasi from Season 1 na nanalo ‘yung kapatid ko and then Season 2, so nandito naman ako as kasama na nila sa dance authority. So I'm very blessed and very thankful sa GMA family talaga,” he said.

Rayver also remembered how many of his career firsts happened under the Kapuso network.

“Lahat ata ng first time ko sa GMA ko na gawa. First time ko nakapag-host sa ‘The Clash,’ ngayon naman first time as judge, and nahasa ‘yung pagkanta ko, dito rin sa GMA. So nakakatuwa lang. Nakakatuwa lahat ng mga opportunities na binibigay nila sa ‘kin. Hindi ko tine-take for granted ‘yon,” he said.

“Stars on the Floor” Season 2 will begin airing on February 15.
