Alden Richards hints P-pop group leaders set to compete on ‘Stars on the Floor’ Season 2

Alden Richards teased a new competitive angle for the upcoming season of “Stars on the Floor,” revealing that P-pop group leaders will be taking the stage this time alongside celebrity dance stars.

The Kapuso actor and the show’s host told GMA News Online that it will spotlight star duos made up of celebrity dancers and P-pop dance stars from the country, with the latter coming specifically from the leaders of select P-pop groups.

“The P-pop idols that are gonna be part of the show are the leaders of their certain P-pop groups. So hanggang dun ko lang siya pwede sabihin,” Alden teased.

While he stopped short of naming the idols involved, Alden said the decision highlights both sides’ familiarity with the dance scene.

“Of course marami din tayong mga celebrity dance stars na kasama na very much familiar with the dance scene din as well. So we're very excited kasi kahit papaano, you know, parang ‘yung ‘Stars on the Floor,’ nagiging way siya to really highlight different groups and people within the industry in terms of dancing. So nagkakaroon din tayo ng pagkakataon mabigyan sila ng platform to showcase their talent at the same time,” he said.

Alden also hinted at new elements viewers can expect.

“There's gonna be a lot of twists and turns and something to look forward to for this show. And we're just looking forward and we can't wait to air this coming February 15,” he said.

Rayver Cruz is set to enter the season as part of the dance authority. He will join returning judges Marian Rivera and choreographer coach Jay.

Last year, Rodjun Cruz and Dasuri Choi won the first edition of the competition.
