Michael Sager, Zephanie to reunite in upcoming series ‘Born to Shine’

Michael Sager is reuniting with Zephanie in a new project!

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the Kapuso stars will be starring in the upcoming Kapuso series “Born to Shine.”

In the series, Michael will play the role of Nate Lim, a reserved and quiet celebrity — a role far from who he is in real life.

Meanwhile, Zephanie will play the role of Jenny Sikat, an aspiring singer who will encounter many challenges in life.

“It’s been years din po since the last time we've worked together in a show and ngayon po nakaka-excite,” Zephanie said.

“I am really excited na makita naman kung ano ‘yung naging growth namin from our individual paths. Kanina nga nag-scenes na kami, medyo nakakapanibago po,” she added.

“Born to Shine” will also feature the comeback of veteran actress Tessie Tomas who returned to the Philippines to take on the villain role in the series.

“Kapag pala kontrabida ka or ganon, parang there’s never a dull moment. When people see 'nako may mangyayari, oh andiyan na naman siya, may mangyayaring gulo, or mayroon siyang iintrigahin o may makakagalit siya. Ma-e-enjoy mo talaga,” Tessie shared.

Other cast members include Olive May, Manilyn Reynes, Vina Morales, Smokey Manaloto, Tina Paner at Roselle Nava. It will be directed by Rod Marmol.

Michael and Zephanie previously worked together in the Kapuso series “Luv is: Caught in His Arms.” 

Michael was among the 20 housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0.”

He previously starred in the vertical series “A Masked Billionaire Stole My Heart” with Ysabel Ortega, and in his self-produced film “Opposites Almost Attract” with AZ Martinez.

Meanwhile, Zephanie previously appeared in “Mga Batang Riles" and “MAKA,”
