Sitti marks 20th anniversary of 'Café Bossa'
It’s been 20 years since Sitti released her debut album, “Café Bossa,” which not only defined pop music of the era but changed Sitti's life.
The singer marked the special milestone on Instagram, saying "How you have blessed and changed my life."
Saying she "can’t believe it’s been that long," Sitti recalled recording the entire album "in Stonehouse QC's function room" as a 21-year-old "singing by myself in the men's CR, connected to everyone just through my headphones."
"What a time!!” Sitti added.
“I had no idea this album would cement my career as a recording artist.. (even now I am in disbelief that I could call myself that hehe),” she said.
In her post, Sitti teased a show happening on May 17 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Quezon City.
“Let’s celebrate ‘Café Bossa’ and ‘Para sa Akin’s’ birthdays together,” Sitti said.
“Café Bossa” was released in 2006 and includes Sitti’s hit songs “Para sa Akin,” “Tattooed on My Mind,” “I Didn’t Know I was Looking for Love,” and many more.
In 2023, Jason Dhakal released a popular cover of “Para sa Akin.”
