David Licauco bares hardest thing he had to unlearn for 'Never Say Die'

For David Licauco, playing Andrew Dizon in "Never Say Die" isn't just about learning stunts and memorizing lines. It more importantly means unlearning habits he didn't even realize he had.

At Tuesday's media conference for the upcoming Kapuso series, David was asked about the hardest thing he had to unlearn while working on the show.

“I think I had this mannerism while acting na lagi akong nakaganyan,” the Sparkle star said, raising both eyebrows as an example.

“Tapos, sinasabihan ako na lagi daw akong nakagano’n, nakabuka ‘yung bunganga kasi, I feel like maybe in real life, I'm like that, ‘di ba? So, I had to unlearn that,” David said.

The Pambansang Ginoo admitted he hasn’t completely removed the mannerism yet, but he is working on it.

“I'm still recovering from it dahil hindi naman gano'n kabilis ma-break ang habits ng isang tao. But, hopefully, I'm getting there. Hopefully,” he said.

Meanwhile, David couldn’t hide his pride as he saw the series come together in its trailer.

“Kapag ginagawa mo kasi siya, hindi mo makita kung gaano kalaki ‘yung ginagawa mo. Kasi per scene eh, ‘di ba? But actually now, the first time ko siya makita, ang laki pala ng teleserye na kapag nadikit-dikit na. So, ayun, ito na ‘yung pinaghihirapan namin. So, we're really happy na finally magre-release na siya. Really happy,” he said.

David will star in “Never Say Die” with Jillian Ward, Kim Ji Soo, Raheel Bhyria, Richard Yap, Raymart Santiago, Angelu De Leon, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Analyn Barro, Winwyn Marquez, and more.

It will begin airing on February 2 at 8:55 p.m. — LA, GMA Integrated News
