David Licauco praises ‘Never Say Die’ co-stars Jillian Ward, Kim Ji Soo, Raheel Bhyria
David Licauco has nothing but praises for his “Never Say Die” co-stars Jillian Ward, Kim Ji Soo, and Raheel Bhyria.
In his GMA Integrated News interview with Nelson Canlas, which aired on "24 Oras," Friday, the Pambansang Ginoo praised Jillian for her kindness and intelligence.
“You know, to my surprise, sobrang bait ni Jillian talaga sa totoo lang and she is genuine and maybe not a lot of people know this, but she is really smart,” David said.
“She knows a lot of things, she is self-aware, like sometimes nga she would give me advice sa business ko,” he added.
David also talked about his dynamics and friendship with his three co-stars.
“Oo, nabuo talaga, I love them sa totoo lang,” he shared.
Meanwhile, David said he never expected to instantly click with Ji Soo. He also praised Raheel for his determination and eagerness to learn.
“Si Ji Soo 'di ko in-expect na mag-c-click kami. Si Ji Soo syempre Korean idol nagulat ako na same kami ng humor,” he said. “Si Raheel naman he's a guy who has dreams and gustong-gusto niya matuto.”
In the same interview, the Kapuso star also talked about his failures and the lessons he learned from them.
Growing up, David recalled experiencing setbacks early on, including not making his Grade 5 basketball team.
“Hindi pa ako ganun kagaling so the following days and months nag-practice ako nang nag-practice ng basketball and then the following year, first five na ko sa team,” David recalled.
Instead of giving up, he said the experience pushed him to work harder.
“I try my best to be the best at everything,” he shared.
According to David, he is not afraid of failures, as these can be an avenue for learning.
“For me it excites me kasi if you fail, matututo ka eh 'di ba, kapag natuto ka hindi ka na magkakamali sa next. Maybe hindi mo siya ma-pe-perfect pero you're one step closer to being good, 'di ba, so failure talaga dun talaga nagsisimula in my opinion,” he said.
In the same interview, David also revealed that he is working on fulfilling his longtime dream of building a luxury villa in Siargao.
“Nasa phase na 'ko ng designing and then hopefully after this teleserye matuloy ko na 'yung construction dahil ako kasi 'yung type na very hands-on sa mga ginagawa ko,” the actor shared.
He is also planning to join a global indoor fitness competition in Taiwan.
“Hybrid workout siya na every month may race abroad so pupuntahan ko actually sa Feb. 28 sa Taiwan. So 'yung goal ko dun syempre mag-place kaya I've been working hard talaga for this,” David said.
To achieve this, the Sparkle star said he makes time to train despite his busy schedule.
“Kunyari nasa taping ako, nag-wo-workout ako bago pumunta ng taping and before dinner parang ang dami nagsasabi sa 'kin oh wala akong oras, wala akong time,” David shared. “But, actually, if you really want something, you would make a way for you to get that something."
David, Jillian, Ji Soo, and Raheel are set to star in the Kapuso action series “Never Say Die.”
It also stars Raymart Santiago, Richard Yap, Angelu De Leon, Analyn Barro, Wendell Ramos, and more
