Jillian Ward, David Licauco are 'action tandem' in ‘Never Say Die’

Jillian Ward is “very proud” of her latest project, “Never Say Die.”

On “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Monday, the Star of the New Gen talked more about the show, including her partnership with co-star David Licauco.

“Usually po diba kapag nag-ta-tandem ang isang babae at lalaki, they think loveteam agad. But for this show, we’re an action tandem,” Jillian said.

“Kung may ‘Ghostbusters,’ kami naman po ang mga busters ng mga masasamang tao. We’re gonna do it together.”

Jillian added that the show will not focus on kilig or romance. “May bigger purpose po ‘yung show.”

“May message po itong storya namin. Mabubuksan po ‘yung mata ng mga kabataan sa mga nangyayari sa bansa po natin na hindi masyadong na-bi-bring into light,” Jillian said. “This is a very courageous show by GMA."

“And I’m so proud of it kasi po first time ko mag-a-action. And hindi siya ‘yung laban laban lang ganon, talagang may reason po bakit kami nakikipaglaban," she added. 

Jillian also shared that she trained in basic taekwondo, and gun- and knife-handling for the project.

“Never Say Die” premieres on GMA Network tonight, February 2, at 8:55 p.m.
