Sofia Pablo grateful for bashers-turned-fans after PBB: 'They gave me a second chance'

Sofia Pablo expressed gratitude to supporters who were once her critics, saying her stay inside the Pinoy Big Brother house gave people the chance to see who she really is.

In an interview with GMA News Online following her eviction, the Sparkle star said that this helped her "heal ng bubog ko na ‘yung kinakatakot ko noon na baka forever lang silang basher."

“Thankful ako kasi they still chose na pagbigyan ako, na mapakilala ‘yung sarili ko. Kasi pwede namang, ‘Bahala ka. Hindi talaga.’ But binigyan nila ako ng chance. And for that, I'm so grateful talaga,” Sofia said.

According to the actress, she began noticing the shift in public perception when she checked social media after leaving the PBB house.

“Nung una po akong nagbasa ng social media, parang hindi ko makapaniwala. Sabi ko, ‘Wait lang, ‘yung mga tao, nalulungkot na nawala ako.’ Nalulungkot sila na na-evict ako,” she said.

The change became more evident when she posted her first TikTok after eviction and read the comments.

“Nung nagbabasa na ako ng comments, parang wala nang negative talaga. Like lahat, ‘I used to be your basher,’ ganun-ganun. ‘Nung pumasok ka, naiirita ako.’ Tapos meron naman, ‘Hindi kita kilala personally, pero dahil sa issues mo nun, I didn't like you, pero ngayon…’”

The warm reception from viewers affirmed that she had fulfilled her purpose inside the house, Sofia said.

“Ang sarap lang sa puso na ang sumalubong sa akin sa outside world is sobrang fulfilled na nung purpose ko inside. Paglabas ko pa ng PBB House, may narinig pa ako agad na song na ginawa para daw sa akin. So umiiyak talaga ako. As in, parang hanggang madaling araw ata umiiyak lang ako while I was reading mga posts about me na nakita talaga nila kung sino talaga ako. Sobrang emotional, very overwhelming, in a good way,” she said.

Sofia got evicted from “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” on Saturday alongside Eliza Borromeo. 

She spent 99 days inside the iconic house and expressed a sense of fulfillment.

"I can say that I've fulfilled my purpose: to show the world who I really am," she said.
