Alvin Aragon recalls approaching Kuya Germs after 'StarStruck' elimination
Alvin Aragon revealed that he sought the help of the late Kuya Germs after being the first contestant eliminated from the first season of "StarStruck" in 2004.
On Tuesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Alvin admitted that he was deeply disappointed after his early exit from the reality talent search, which he described as a lifelong dream.
"Pangarap ko talagang mag-artista bata pa lang ako. Noong napasama ako diyan, tapos ako 'yung unang natanggal, eh nalungkot talaga ako. At talagang 'Ano kayang gagawin ko?'" he said.
Following his elimination, Alvin said that he personally approached Kuya Germs in hopes of getting a chance to appear on his show.
"Nag-approach ako kay Kuya Germs para baka puwede na lang akong mag-'Walang Tulugan.' Wala, hindi rin ako napasama," he said.
His fortunes later changed when "StarStruck" brought back seven eliminated contestants, giving him another chance to compete.
"Tapos hanggang nag-final judgment. Tapos kinontract kami ng GMA. Thank you, GMA! Limang taon akong magta-trabaho sa GMA. Thank you talaga," he said.
Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras won "StarStruck" that season.
Alvin said his fortunes in the showbiz industry later changed due to bad decisions, but he was able to mend his ways when he found God.
He is married to former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
