Heart Evangelista admits not realizing at once it was Colombia's Ariadna Gutierrez she was speaking with at Paris Fashion Week
Heart Evangelista and Colombian beauty queen Ariadna Gutierrez had a friendly encounter at the recently concluded Paris Fashion Week and were even captured in a photo together.
But at Wednesday's media conference for “Heart World” Season 2, the Kapuso Global Fashion Icon admitted she didn't realize immediately that it was the beauty queen she was speaking with.
"Actually, 'di ko in-expect na siya pala 'yun," Heart began. "We are surrounded by cameras and beautiful people. They're all so beautiful. And I only realized when she tagged me [on Instagram]," she said.
Heart recalled they were casually chatting about a fashion show that Ariadna was unable to attend.
"Then I said, 'You should attend' because I think that particular show, hindi siya naka-attend. So I gave her my PR," Heart said. “And then she's like, ‘Oh my God,’ chika-chika.”
It was only after Ariadna tagged her on social media that Heart realized who she had been talking to.
"She was really nice," Heart said of the beauty queen.
The two bonded over language, with Ariadna speaking in Spanish and Heart responding in the same.
“So natuwa siya. So chika-chika kami. And then na-realize ko, superstar pala siya. Tapos lumalakad siya sa—she also does the runway! And I was super starstruck after. So it was nice,” she said.
When asked if a collaboration could be in the works, Heart responded playfully: “Kung nakaupo kami, pwede. Hindi pwedeng tumayo.”
Ariadna competed in Miss Universe 2015, where she was initially announced as the winner before host Steve Harvey corrected the results and declared the Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach as Miss Universe.
Meanwhile, the second season of “Heart World” will premiere on March 7 at 9:30 p.m. on GMA Network. It is directed by Rico Gutierrez.
