Michelle Yeoh receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star: 'Where you begin doesn't define where you can go'

Michelle Yeoh was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in Los Angeles, California.

Clad in a bright yellow dress, the Asian icon, known for her roles in “Wicked,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” accepted the coveted star and delivered a heartfelt speech, which was shared on Instagram.

Michelle said her journey from growing up in Malaysia to her rise in Hollywood “wasn’t a straight line.”

“There were moments when I wondered if I belonged, but I was fortunate,” she said. “Fortunate to be part of stories that cross borders and languages; stories that reminded us how deeply connected we all are.”

“The star may carry one name, but it represents so many people who made this journey possible,” she added.

Michelle also said she hopes her achievement of receiving a Hollywood Walk of Fame star reminds someone out there of the endless possibilities in life.

“That where you begin does not define where you can go,” she said.

In 2023, Michelle made history as the first Asian to win Best Actress at the Oscars for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” delivering an inspirational acceptance speech.

"And ladies, don't let anybody tell you that you are ever past your prime. Never give up," she said back then.

That same year, she also won Best Actress at the SAG Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
