Glaiza De Castro, Kelvin Miranda win honors at NDM+ Acting Awards 2026
Glaiza De Castro and Kelvin Miranda were among the big winners at the NDM+ Acting Awards 2026.
Glaiza was hailed Best Actress by the NDM+ Acting Awards for her role in the 2025 film “Sinagtala" during the awards night on February 17 at the Art Son Event Gala Hall in Quezon City.
“Sinagtala” follows a band whose members are dealing with their own personal issues, but find solace in music. It premiered in 2025.
Meanwhile, Kelvin won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jacob in “Every Juan Knows Every Juan." The film is about a group of siblings who reunite for the first death anniversary of their mother.
On Instagram, Glaiza dedicated her acting award to her late father, Alfred Galura, saying that "Sinagtala" “holds a special place in my heart."
“I almost didn’t make it into the film, yet its message of faith resonated deeply with me—especially because it was the last movie my father ever saw," said the Kapuso actress.
“I drew inspiration for my character from him, knowing that he had once been part of a band and later found his way to the Lord. In many ways, this role was a tribute to his journey."
According to Glaiza, the award is more than a recognition but “a meaningful victory that honors both the film’s message and my father’s memory.”
She also gave a meaningful trivia about the film.
“P.S. Si tatay din nagturo ng chords sakin sa ‘Dear Love,’” she noted.
