Jasmine Trias posts throwback moments from 'Bebot' music video
Jasmine Trias made fans nostalgic in her latest Instagram post!
On Instagram, the Filipino-American singer posted moments from the "Bebot" music video, which she starred in back in 2006.
Jasmine said in her caption that she has been getting tagged in the viral "Bebot" trend. She also shared that she was asked by the Black Eyed Peas and member Apl.de.Ap to star in the video.
"'Bebot' (Filipino/Tagalog for 'Hot Girl') is a song celebrating Filipino culture, released at a time where representation was so important and truly mattered," Jasmine said.
"It's pretty incredible that 20 years later, this Filipino beauty trend happening right now is inspiring the latest generation and being embraced in this way. It shows just how far we've come," she added.
She also thanked the artists for inviting her "to be part of this special moment in time, representing Filipinos around the world through music and art."
"And yes … I still have the original 'Bebot' tee I wore in the video!" Jasmine said.
The "Bebot" trend is a new makeup transformation video, showing people getting all glammed up.
Jasmine is best known for her stint on "American Idol" Season 3 in 2004, followed by a career in the Philippines. She appeared on "Extra Challenge" and her life story was featured on "Magpakailanman."
