Jasmine Curtis Smith proves she can dance on 'Stars on the Floor' season 2
Jasmine Curtis Smith is on a quest to prove that dancing can also be part of her portfolio.
At Tuesday’s “Stars on the Floor” media conference, the award-winning actress said being part of GMA Network’s original dance reality competition program is a way for her to improve her dancing skills.
In the show, Jasmine is dubbed the Mystery Celebrity Dance Star and she said that dancing, or moving her body in general, is one of the ways that makes her feel better.
“Kasi nakakapag-release ka ng endorphins and then also nalilbang ka kasi focus ka sa sayaw,” she said.
Jasmine expressed her gratitude to the show for waiting on her availability to join the new season, following the death of her and Anne Curtis’ father in January.
“Malaking bagay na I’m busy every day, and I have something to keep my mind busy with, and ang saya lang sumayaw,” she said.
“I think it’s one of those things, na, when the door closes, another one opens, and this is a door opening for me into a new chapter,” Jasmine added. “Besides acting, kaya ko pala matutuo sumayaw.”
At the same media conference, Dance Authority Marian Rivera revealed her most important criterion when judging the contestants’ performances.
The second season of "Stars on the Floor" features quite the stellar lineup as Rocco Nacino, Paul Salas, Sugar Mercado of SexBomb Girls, and Chanty of Lapillus have been named celebrity dance stars.
Joining them on the show are P-pop idols HORI7ON’s Jeromy, Alamat’s Jao, KAIA’s Sophia, Calista’s Denise, and 1st.One’s Joker.
