Rhian Ramos preparing to file cases over defamatory statements about her

Rhian Ramos is preparing to file civil and criminal cases against individuals spreading defamatory statements about her.

According to Vicky Morales' report on "24 Oras," Monday, Rhian's lawyer Atty. Lorna said they have already identified the individuals who first made the defamatory statements about the actress.

"The camp of Rhian Ramos vehemently denounces the malicious and utterly false information currently circulating about her, circling around some photographs that are said to depict her in compromising positions. For the record, these photographs were unlawfully taken and stolen by a driver, a person deeply trusted by Ms. Ramos. This confidence had been betrayed," she said in a statement.

She added that their camp is also monitoring those spreading the statements.

"Even if she's a celebrity, she's a public figure, she has her own private life outside her show," Kapunan said about Rhian.

Rhian's camp urges the public to protect the rights and dignity of women, especially with the approaching Women's Month.

"Ms. Ramos is well aware that fabricated and incredulous narratives, particularly on social media, have been deliberately crafted and amplified to embarrass her and besmirch her reputation. These claims are not only baseless, but they reflect a culture characterized by sexist attacks carefully designed to destroy a woman's dignity and autonomy, which has no place in the twenty-first century," she said. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
