Kris Lawrence recalls Alvin Aragon cellphone-stealing incident
After a 2024 video of Alvin Aragon admitting he stole Kris Lawrence’s phone resurfaced online, the Prince of R&B took to social media to revisit the incident.
On Facebook, Kris affirmed that yes, Alvin had stolen his phone inside his home. It took place 20 years ago in 2006.
He recalled meeting Alvin at a bar in Quezon City while he and Jay R were out drinking.
“Medyo bitin kami sa inuman, so in-invite ko sila sa bahay (I invited them to my house because it felt a little cut-short),” he said.
According to Kris, they continued their drinking session at his home studio until the crack of dawn and only realized his phone was missing after everyone had left.
“When I was going back to my room, I noticed that nawawala cellphone ko,” he said. “Hanap ako nang hanap, wala. (I kept looking but nothing.)”
“For me, nakakapagtaka, hawak-hawak ko sa studio [‘yung phone ko] and apat lang naman kami. Talagang it's weird,” he added.
(For me, it was strange. I had my cellphone with me in the studio and there were only four of us. I was really weird.)
Kris said one of Alvin’s friends, who had accompanied him to the house, later called and admitted that Alvin had taken the phone.
“Long story short, nag-sorry siya,” he said. “My fist was balled up, gusto ko siya suntukin pero I know that violence is never the answer.”
(Long story short, he said sorry. My fist was balled up, I wanted to punch him but I know violence is never the answer.)
Kris shared that he had already forgotten about the incident until the video resurfaced online.
“I know he’s in a better place now. I know he’s Christian, and alam ko naman mabait si Alvin,” he said.
Alvin has been drawing online backlash following his comments on his wife, Izzy Trazona, and her former girl group SexBomb Girls.
"Sino ang nagpa-resign [kay Izzy] sa SexBomb? Ang Panginoon. Noong naging Christian si Izzy, pina-resign ng Lord. Sabi ni Lord kay Izzy, 'Come, follow me, I will make you fishers of men.' Nag-obey si Izzy do'n," he said in a radio interview.
Of Izzy’s trans child Sofia, Alvin said "God will throw you to hell if you continue to do homosexuality. Mamuhay ka, and you don't want to believe in Jesus? I assure you that God will throw you to hell if you don't stop, repent, and believe in the gospel."
Amid the online controversy, Izzy stood firm in her faith.
