Dingdong Dantes cautions public against misinformation, disinformation, misuse of AI

Dingdong Dantes has reminded the public to be discerning and vigilant against fake news after a political post falsely attributed to him circulated online

In Nelson Canlas’ report in “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the Kapuso Primetime King called on netizens not to be easily swayed by misinformation and disinformation.

"‘Yun na. Kung ano 'yun, I just clarified it. It is what it is. ‘Yun na ‘yun,” Dingdong said.

At the sidelines of the induction and recognition ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), Dingdong also shared that fake news is not the only pressing concern today, but also the improper use of artificial intelligence or AI.

“Ang mas malala pa dun maraming nagpapadala sa akin ng mga fake na mga galing Facebook na nagbebenta ng produkto gamit ang mukha namin,” he said.

“So tinatanong ako, 'legit ba 'to?' kasi kung pinanood mo para talagang kami 'yung nagsasalita, kami 'yung nasa video, so talagang nakakatakot."

Meanwhile, Dingdong is gearing up for the upcoming anniversary of “Family Feud,” and the highly anticipated GMA Prime and Netflix series “The Master Cutter.”

Despite his busy schedule, however, the actor remains an ever-supportive father.

He recently shared a heartwarming moment when his youngest child, Sixto, had the chance to meet Kapuso Comedy Genius Michael V

Dingdong proudly recalled how Sixto turned into a certified fan boy during the encounter.

“Alam mo matagal na niyang sinasabi sa akin, I want to meet him, si Michael V., kasi pinapanood namin 'yung mga videos niya,” Dingdong said.

“Sabi niya, ‘you know I know only three Michaels. Michael Schumacher, Michael Jordan and Michael V.’ Ay wow, sabi ko. So kinuwento ko nga kay kuya Bitoy yun, na kung may pagkakataon baka pwede ko ipa-meet sila kasi request talaga sa akin ni Sixto ‘yun,” he added.
