'PBB Celebrity Collab 2.0': Miguel Vergara owns up to past mistake to Eliza Borromeo

Miguel Vergara mustered the courage to open up his feelings and take accountability during the continuation of the Ultimate Tapatan. 

On Tuesday’s episode of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0,” more housemates who are part of the Ultimate 8 answered tough questions from ex-housemates who then voted whether their answers were true or a lie.

Below is the Q&A edited for length and clarity.

Q: Gusto ko magbigay ka ng isang specific instance sa iyong stay dito sa Bahay ni Kuya that you lived your word, paglipad?

'Yung paglipad ko po na word recently nagawa ko po siya nung I became part of the Ultimate 8 po. Kasi dati ang interpretation ko po sa word ko na paglipad, I thought it was learning how to fly by myself.

Natutunan ko naman po 'yun, to learn how to fly by myself. But na-realize ko po, mas gusto ko palang paglipad kasama po 'yung ibang tao. I think it's easier to fly if you're surrounded or 'yung mga pakpak mo nakasuporta 'yung mga taong naniniwala sa 'yo and ‘yung mga taong naging pillars ko sa pag-stay ko po dito and sa labas din po 'yung family ko. I think they were the reasons why I flew this high po papunta sa Ultimate 8.

[Flying is the word I chose and I recently did it when I became part of the Ultimate 8. Before, my interpretation of the word flying was learning how to fly by myself.

I did learn that but I realized I prefer to fly with other people. I think it's easier to fly if you're surrounded or your wings are supported by people who believe in you and the people who have been my pillars during my stay here, as well as my family outside. I think they were the reasons why I flew this high to be part of the Ultimate 8].

Q from taumbayan: Doon sa talk show ni Eliza Borromeo, pinili na ni girl si Marco Masa na very special. Tapos ikaw, naging special sa kanya. Pero nung naging wildcard silang dalawa, parang pinupormahan mo pa si Eliza at walang pake kay Marco. Wala ka bang respeto kina Eliza, Marco, o sa sarili mo? Green flag ka ba kung feelings mo lang ang importante sa 'yo?

Talagang tinry ko po mag-set ng boundaries pero every time na lumalapit po siya sa akin, I can't stop myself po na ilabas po 'yung talagang nararamdaman po para sa kanya.

Q from Marco: Sino sa mga ex-housemates ang karapat-dapat ding maging bahagi ng Ultimate Eight?

Ako, para sa akin, isa sa mga karapat-dapat na mapabilang sa Ultimate 8 is si Carmelle and I think I was very vocal about that nung magkalaban kami sa platform.

Kasi para sa akin, isa siya sa mga naging pinakatotoo. At kagaya ko nung mga time na 'yun na kinikilala ko yung sarili ko dito sa bahay, siya din. Talagang wala talagang tinago na kahit ano. 

[For me, Carmelle is one of the most deserving housemates to be in the Ultimate 8 and I think I was very vocal about that when we were competing on the platform.

For me, she was one of the most authentic. And just like me during those times when I was still getting to know myself inside the house, she was doing that too. She really didn't hide anything]

Q: Sino naman ang papalitan mo sa mga Ultimate 8 na ngayon kung si Carmelle ang iniisip mong karapat-dapat din na maging bahagi ng Ultimate 8?

That's hard. Okay, I have an answer. Siyempre, I'm thankful na 'yung mga taong sumuporta sa akin, 'yung pamilya ko, they all believed in me, but if I were to switch spots, I would take Carmelle's spot.

[I’m thankful for the support of the people and my family because they all believed in me, but if I were to switch spots, I would switch Carmelle's spot with mine]. 

Q: Miguel, sabi mo si Carmelle kung sakaling binigyan ka ni Kuya ng chance, you'd give up your spot?

Noong mga time na ‘yun na nandito kami pa rin sa platform, I would give up my spot for her. But now that I'm here, I think na people saw something in me na made them believe that I was deserving sa spot. So ngayon, ipaglalaban ko po 'yung spot ko na Ultimate 8. But when we were there on the platform, we didn't know kung sino po 'yung mapapabilang sa Ultimate 8. I was okay to give up my spot.

[At that time, when we were still on the platform, I would give up my spot for her. But now that I'm here, I think people saw something in me that made them believe that I was deserving of the spot. So now, I'm going to fight for my spot in the Ultimate 8. But when we were there on the platform that time, and we didn't know who would be in the Ultimate 8, I was okay to give up my spot].

Q from Eliza: Kaya mo bang panindigan ang pagiging Big Winner or Ultimate 8 when in the past, maraming incidents na nang-g-ghost ka paulit-ulit at hindi mo pinaninindigan 'yung actions and decisions mo?

Hindi ako makapagsalita. Ngayon, siguro, I would... I knew what I did was wrong. So, I wouldn't do it again. And ngayon, papanindigan ko 'yung spot ko sa Ultimate 8 para mapabilang sa Big Night kasi ang dami ko rin naging pagkakamali dito sa bahay, including mga pagkakamali ko sa 'yo. 

So ngayon, I wouldn't do the same things I did back then kasi I know now na what I did was wrong and I would never do that again to you. Bye bye. Miss you.

[I knew what I did was wrong. So, I wouldn't do it again. And now, I'm going to defend my spot in the Ultimate 8 to be included on the Big Bight because I've made a lot of mistakes here at Bahay ni Kuya, including my mistakes to you.  

Now, I wouldn't do the same things I did back then because I know now what I did was wrong and I would never do that again to you. Bye bye. Miss you].

Q: Miguel, did you say 'miss you?' Anong naramdaman mo saying all that and owning up to the past in front of her mismo? 

There's nothing wrong with missing someone po and I missed her so much. I think now I'm not scared to express how I feel. Dati po kasi I was scared of saying stuff to her.

I was scared of showing how I felt [for] her. But now, 'yun po 'yung isa sa mga natutunan ko, I won't be scared [of] showing kung ano po 'yung talagang laman ng puso ko po. 

[There's nothing wrong with missing someone and I missed her so much. I think now I'm not scared to express how I feel. Before I was scared of saying stuff to her. I was scared of showing how I felt [for] her. But now, one of the things I've learned is I won't be scared of showing what's truly in my heart.
