Veteran actress Odette Khan hospitalized for pneumonia, respiratory complications

Odette Khan has been confined at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute due to multiple serious health conditions.

Her daughter, Claudette Avelino-Tandoc, shared the update on the veteran actress’ condition through the “Bar Boys” Facebook page.

According to the post, Odette has pneumonia, emphysema, and edema. Fluid was drained from her right lung last Monday. She remains bedridden as treatment continues.

The family is appealing for support to help cover ongoing medical needs while she continues her recovery.

“Hospital bill as of today, Feb.27, is now at PHP 211,000+ not including professional and readers fee, caregiving expenses and medicines are not included yet,” Claudette said.

“We are running out of funds. I am appealing to your kind hearts, as Mommy Odette’s child. She has served the film and television community with all her heart for over five decades. If she has touched you in any way during these years and you are capable and willing to donate, we would really appreciate it.  Taos-pusong pasasalamat po in advance sa mga tutulong kay Mommy Odette.”

Odette is widely known in Philippine entertainment for her kontrabida roles.

Among her recent projects are “Bar Boys” and “Bar Boys: After School,” where she played Justice Hernandez.
