Odette Khan's condition has improved and 'she is now awake,' says director Kip Oebenda

“Bar Boys” director Kip Oebenda gave a health update on veteran actress Odette Khan, sharing that her condition has improved since she was hospitalized.

On Instagram Stories, the director said that the veteran actress “is now awake” and “able to eat thrice a day.”

“Her condition improved,” Kip said. “We now have a specialist who said her lungs don’t need to be drained again because of the improvement.”

“She is fighting with us. Thank you to everyone who has helped,” he added.

Kip also said that he is deeply “inspired and touched” by the support that Odette has been receiving.

“Her 50 years of love for her art and craft made people love her as well,” he said. “In this industry, people like her are rare.”

He also called Odette “one of the silent pillars of our industry.”

“She never chased fame or validation – just quiet, dignified and high-quality work over the years,” he wrote.

In late February, Odette was hospitalized due to pneumonia and respiratory complications.

She is widely known in Philippine entertainment for her roles as an antagonist. She last starred as Justice Hernandez in “Bar Boys: After School.” —Hermes Joy Tunac/JCB, GMA Integrated News
