Sofia Trazona reacts to Alvin Aragon's comment on Bong Suntay-Anne Curtis issue

Alvin Aragon weighs in on Bong Suntay-Anne Curtis issue

Sofia Trazona reacted to the comment made by her stepfather, Alvin Aragon, on Rep. Bong Suntay’s remarks about Anne Curtis in a house committee hearing.

On Instagram, the former actor talked about how lust is difficult to avoid and that only Jesus can help one overcome it.

"Kahit hindi si Anne ang tinitignan mo ng may pagnanasa may mag-iinit sa loob mo, lalo na kapag nakalabas pa ang cleavage mo at legs," he wrote.

"Kaya Filipino men protect your wife may 'sin of lust' kasi. And Filipino women dress modestly to avoid sexual desire," he added.

Sofia shared a post on Facebook quoting Alvin's statement.

"Ang dumi mag-isip ah walang respeto sa babae," she wrote in the caption.

She also posted a reel of herself dancing while wearing a crop top.

"Crop top tayo dedma sa madumi mag-isip," she said.

Sofia is the daughter of Alvin's wife Izzy Trazona with her former partner Michael Navarro.

During the proceedings on the pending impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, Suntay verbalized his apparent desire for Anne and used it as an analogy in defense of Duterte’s previous remarks about being the “designated survivor” when she skipped the State of the Nation Address in 2024.

“Alam n’yo minsan, minsan nasa Shangri-La ako, nakita ko si Anne Curtis, ang ganda-ganda pala niya. You know, may desire sa loob ko na, nag-init talaga, na-imagine ko na lang kung ano’ng pwedeng mangyari pero siyempre hanggang imagination na lang ‘yon. Pero ‘di naman siguro ako pwedeng kasuhan kung ano ang na-imagine ko eh,” Suntay said.

He was called out by members of the House Committee on Justice and his remarks were later struck from record. Suntay issued an apology but stood by his "analogy."

Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Anne’s sister, slammed him for his comments and said the issue is about all women. More celebrities also expressed their disapproval and disgust for the remarks.

Alvin similarly drew criticism for his comments about Izzy and her former girl group, the SexBomb Girls. He said he did not want Izzy to wear sexy outfits and be looked at by other men.

In an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Sofia reacted to this and said it was the act of objectifying that should be called out.

"If mayroon pong someone na there's a reaction, 'Ay 'yung SexBomb pa-sexy nang pa-sexy. 'Yung damit nila sobrang revealing,' and ini-objectify nila 'yung SexBomb, eh mali po 'yun, dapat hindi po tinotolerate," she said.
