Yasser Marta to portray detainee in upcoming 'Magpakailanman' episode

Yasser Marta is set to portray a dramatic role in the upcoming episode of "Magpakailanman."  

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras" Thursday, the Sparkle star will play a detainee in "Ang Presong Nangarap Maging Pulis." 

The episode will show his character's perseverance to change and better his life. 

"Ang natutunan ko rin sa mga pagkakamali natin, hindi natin siya matatakpan kung gagawa lang tayo ng kabutihan. Para sa character ko na si Von, it's accountability. Kailangan natin pagbayaran, kailangan natin akuin 'yung mga pagkakamali natin para magbago," he said. 

Yasser is also set to play Jesus Christ in a stage play in Angeles, Pampanga, during Holy Week. 

A Muslim, the Kapuso actor shared that he took on the role out of his love for acting. 

"Para sa 'kin, 'yung trabaho pa rin. Mahal ko talaga 'yung pag-arte eh, mahal ko itong ginagawa kong I get to play different roles kaya nung sinabi sa 'kin, in-offer sa 'kin 'yung Jesus Christ, hindi na 'ko nagdalawang-isip. Ngayon, inaaral ko pa eh. Pinapanood ko pa 'yung kwento ni Jesus Christ. Sana mabigyan ko siya ng hustisya." 

"Ang Presong Nangarap Maging Pulis" will air on Saturday, March 7, at 8:15 p.m. on GMA Network.
