Barbie Forteza on International Women's Day: 'Men have no right to tell women to shut up'
Barbie Forteza joined this year's FCC Women's Run on Sunday, March 8, completing the 10-kilometer race in celebration of International Women's Day.
In a quick interview with GMA News Online after the run, the Kapuso Primetime Princess shared a message of empowerment for women who participated in the event.
"I'm just so proud of all the ladies na nakatakbo ko today. Ang gaganda ng mga katakbo ko. I feel very safe kasi I'm around all the women," she said.
The actress also referenced one of her iconic lines from the hit series "Maria Clara at Ibarra," where she played a Gen Z nursing student who enters the world of "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo."
"Well, a wise woman once said, men have no right to tell women to shut up," Barbie said.
International Women's Day, observed every March 8, celebrates the achievements of women and calls for greater gender equality worldwide.
The 2026 FCC Women's Run is among the events held to mark the occasion, in partnership with HOKA Philippines, ReFresh Mineral Water and HydroAid — bringing together women from different sectors to promote empowerment, solidarity, and wellness through running.
