Joaquin Arce opens up about relationship with stepmom Angel Locsin

Joaquin Arce opened up about his relationship with his stepmom, Angel Locsin. 

During his guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday with fellow “PBB Collab 2.0” housemates Ashley Sarmiento, Miguel Vergara and Princess Aliyah, the Kapamilya star said he considers Angel as his second mom and mentor.

“Parang second mom ko po siya. She’s my mentor and she also gives me advice in life,” Joaquin shared.

Joaquin also said he was grateful for Angel’s support on his "PBB" journey.

“Grabe 'yung nag-stop siya ng hiatus just to defend me. Pinagtanggol ako ni Darna. 'Di ba, parang wow, I’m so grateful for her and I really couldn’t have done it without her,” he said, adding that he is also a “fan” of Angel.

When asked if he wants to work on a movie with Angel, Joaquin said he is open to it, but he has to be deserving of it. 

“Absolutely. I want to, of course. I feel like I have to deserve to act in a movie with her. I feel like I have to deserve to work with her,” he shared.

“I mean, come on, she’s the best. I can’t act with the best unless I am along those lines, so I want to deserve to work with her. I have to work to that point.” 

Joaquin is the son of Filipino film producer Neil Arce, who is the husband of Angel.

Angel has been supportive of Joaquin’s "PBB" journey, often posting him on social media. She also came to the defense of Joaquin after he was labeled a "nepo baby" by some netizens, and during the "Tapatan" challenge inside Bahay ni Kuya.

Joaquin emerged as the 3rd Big Placer alongside Ashley Sarmiento in “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.”
