Chito Miranda, Gab Chee Kee help busking dad raise funds for child’s education

Chito Miranda didn’t hesitate to help a father who was busking to earn money for his child’s medical school fees.

On Facebook, Chito’s wife, Neri Naig, shared how Chito and his son, Miggy, were walking around the University of the Philippines Diliman when they saw the father performing songs in public.

“Kaya tinawagan daw niya si Gab [Chee Kee] para tulungan ‘yung tatay,” Neri narrated. “Game naman si Gab, kaya pumunta sa UP Diliman agad.”

In the video Neri shared, Chito and Gab could be seen performing Parokya Ni Edgar’s hit song “Your Song.”

In a separate post, Chito said Gab didn’t ask any questions and immediately went to the state university to help the busking dad.

“Walang tanong tanong, pumunta agad,” the Parokya Ni Edgar frontman wrote.

Charity and generosity aren't new for Parokya. In 2023 when Gab was hospitalized due to pneumonia, a complication of his lymphoma. Parokya ni Edgar and other bands then raised funds to help cover his medical bills.

One of the auctioned items to help Gab was a guitar signed by Eraserheads, which was sold for P1.3 million.

In 2024, Parokya Ni Edgar shared a photo of the band’s reunion following Gab’s full recovery.
