Drag queen Misua, set for 'Drag Race Philippines' S4, passes away

Drag artist Misua, who was set to appear in the fourth season of “Drag Race Philippines,” has passed away. She was only 27.

World of Wonder and “Drag Race Philippines” shared the heartbreaking news in a collaboration post on Instagram, saying Misua died in her sleep on the morning of April 2.

“She brought light, artistry, and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed,” the statement said.

Production for the upcoming season has been temporarily paused "to care for and support our cast and crew during this incredibly difficult time."

"Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who loved her. We are in contact with her family who have asked for privacy during this hard time."

In a separate statement, Misua's family also confirmed the passing of their “dearly loved son, brother, friend, mentor.”

Details on Misua’s funeral and wake will be announced soon.

Misua was born Jason Elvie Go Ty on July 5, 1998.

Her last Instagram post was uploaded on February 17 in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

The post has since been filled with comments from fans expressing grief and condolences.

“Drag Race Philippines” opened casting for the upcoming season in January.
