Alden Richards to compete in first triathlon next year
Alden Richards is keeping his sports momentum going as he has set a major goal for himself next year.
In Martin Javier's "In the Game" report on "24 Oras” Tuesday, the Asia's Multimedia Star shared he wants to maintain his momentum after competing in a triathlon relay in March.
“Sinabi ko sa sarili ko right after the race, and I even told my coach, na gusto ko na ituloy. Sayang ‘yung momentum, so I will be doing my first triathlon next year, full triathlon,” he revealed.
Alden also shared more about why he enjoys cycling.
“There’s something about endurance sports kasi, well for me most especially cycling, that keeps me sane,” Alden said, adding that he gets to unwind and have time for himself.
He also talked more about his triathlon relay experience last month, which he did with Nico Bolzico and Wil Dasovich.
According to Alden, he wasn't sold on the idea initially when it was brought up to him in January, but he eventually changed his mind.
“I’m always on constant search to do something that I’ve never done before,” Alden shared.
He also said that there are moments when he felt like giving up, especially when his body feels weak, but having the right people around him was essential in achieving goals.
“’Di siya madali. Nagulat lang din ako with my performance during the race, actually,” Alden said. “We’re very proud na we ranked ninth place sa overall relay team out of the 80 teams that participated, and we ranked eighth with the all-male gender category."
In January, Alden shared his training and other preparations for the said triathlon, including losing weight.
