Sophia of Katseye beams with Pinoy pride as she performs at Coachella
Katseye leader Sophia Laforteza was a loud and proud Filipina at the Coachella stage on Saturday.
In her mini speech during their debut performance on the Sahara Desert stage of the music festival, the Filipina singer made a shoutout to her fellow Filipinos in the crowd.
“I’m overwhelmed with emotion. It’s so beautiful. I see some people raising the Filipino flag here in Coachella. You guys are making our dreams come true,” Sophia said.
On Instagram Stories, her mom, actress Carla Gueverra, shared an Instagram Reel of their performance and expressed pride over her daughter.
“Tune in to 11 am to cry the entire time while watching my Sophia,” she wrote.
Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae, and Megan made their Coachella debut on Saturday (PST) singing their hit songs “Touch,” and “Debut” among others.
Manon, who is currently on hiatus, did not join the performance.
Meanwhile, Nation’s Girl Group BINI also took the center stage of Coachella’s Mojave stage, making history as the first Filipino act to perform in the music festival. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
