Jasmine Curtis-Smith reveals she volunteered her name for 'Stars on the Floor' Season 2

Jasmine Curtis-Smith is a woman who goes after what she wants.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Kapuso actress revealed that she actually volunteered to be part of "Stars on the Floors" Season 2.

"Childhood dream ko talagang sumayaw," she said. "As in nine years old palang 'yun na 'yung gusto kong gawin, gusto ko maging part ng dance crew."

"So nung nalaman kong naghahanap sila ng bagong dance stars, inalay ko na po ang pangalan ko just in case, just in case makapasa," she added.

Jasmine said she had a chance meeting with the writer and the stylist of Rayver Cruz, one of the judges of the show along with Marian Rivera and Jay Roncesvalles. She asked them to float her name, saying that had been attending dance workshops.

"I just wanted to learn how to dance talaga. Why not compete while doing it?" she said.

Jasmine is one of the five celebrity dance stars on "Stars on the Floor" Season 2, along with Rocco Nacino, Sugar Mercado, Chanty Videla, and Paul Salas.

Also part of the show are five P-pop idols Jeromy (Hori7on), Jao (Alamat), Sophia (KAIA), Denise (Calista), and Joker (1st.One).

According to Jasmine, the most difficult part of their dance routines are the lifts, and more importantly, the stamina needed.

"Iba 'yung kabisado mo 'yung sayaw, iba 'yung nape-perform mo ng 100% 'yung sayaw hanggang dulo ng sayaw. And dun ako nauubos minsan kasi nga panibago sa 'kin mag-perform ng ganitong klaseng performance," she said.

"Para kang nag-jogging ng 30 minutes tapos may weights ka pang karga," she added.

Jasmine said she has calluses on her big toe and several bruises from the physicality of their training.

"S'yempre kailangan magpakitang-gilas every week, hindi puwedeng normal-normal lang," she said.

"Stars on the Floor" Season 2 airs Sundays on GMA Network at 7:15 p.m. after "Bubble Gang." —MGP, GMA News
