Kelvin Miranda mourns passing of father Patricio

Kelvin Miranda is grieving the loss of his father.

On Instagram Stories, the Sparkle actor posted an old photo taken during his high school graduation along with a heartfelt message dedicated to his late dad.

In his message, Kelvin opened up about the regrets and struggles he carried, particularly his decision to pursue acting instead of finishing his studies as his father had wished.

According to the “Sang’gre” star, the photo holds deep significance for him as it represents the only achievement his father was able to witness—one that he believes brought him great pride and happiness.

He also shared that choosing to pursue a career in showbiz a year ago was a difficult decision, especially knowing it went against his father’s wishes.

Despite this, he worked hard to prove that he could stand on his own, clarifying that his intentions were not to defy him but to make him proud and to pursue something he believed would bring color and meaning to their lives.

The actor also reflected on the disagreements he had with his father, saying these moments left a lasting impact on him as they taught him important lessons and proved that his father’s guidance was true.

He admitted that while he once believed he was strong enough to handle things on his own, he only now fully understands the pain of losing a parent.

Kelvin expressed heartbreak over his father’s sudden passing, noting that he was not given the chance to say goodbye. He went on to share that he is struggling to accept his father’s passing, especially now that there is no longer someone to challenge the decisions he makes.

He ended his tribute by telling his father how much he loves him and vowed that, despite the pain of his loss, he would never forget him.

No cause of death has been revealed by the actor.

Kelvin currently stars as Adamus in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.” It airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8:05 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
