Kris Bernal, Beauty Gonzalez game for catfight scenes in 'House of Lies'
"House of Lies" starring Kris Bernal and Beauty Gonzalez has been getting more and more intense.
In recent episodes, the catfights between Kris' and Beauty's characters have stood out. One scene showed Marj (Beauty) shoving Thea (Kris) into a cake after learning about the latter’s affair with her husband, Paolo (Mike Tan). In another, Thea was shoved into a punch bowl, and dragged outside their home by Marj.
According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the stars are game for the catfight scenes for the love of the show.
“As much as possible sabi ko nga, kung kaya ko, gusto ko gawin talaga lahat,” Kris said.
Kris added that it is all worth it, even though it can be tiring as she has to shower and get her makeup done again after each scene.
“Pero ‘pag nakikita ko ‘yung comments ng mga tao, talagang gigil na gigil sila sa ‘kin. Sabi ko, 'ay parang ‘yung pagod nakakawala din.' ‘Tas parang gusto mo pang galingan sa mga susunod na eksena,” Kris said.
“Ang dami ngang galit sa ‘kin, natatakot na ‘kong lumabas ng bahay,” she added in jest. .
Kris also said that Beauty takes care of her during their scenes. They also talk about the scenes and rehearse together.
“Hindi siya mabigat, very light lang din kahit gano kabigat ‘yung eksena,” Kris said.
Beauty, for her part, shared that they need to have big actions to make the scene look realistic.
“I’m really grateful na game na game siya,” Beauty said, as she also noted how skilled their director, Jerry Lopez Sineneng, and the production crew are.
“We’re just having fun and it’s really true. It’s a happy set here,” she added.
Meanwhile, Mike Tan and Martin Del Rosario may play rivals onscreen, but they always have fun moments behind the scenes, too.
“Actually, kaming apat naman, makukulit kami eh,” Mike said. “Nakakatuwa lang na na-re-reset kami before the take. Kasi during the take, sobrang bigat na talaga. Mag-iiyakan na ‘yan, mag-aaway na ‘yan, magsisisihan na ‘yan. But after the take, ayan na, magkukulitan na ulit.”
“Syempre, on set, bugbugan, sakalan. Dapat off set, ano lang, light light lang. Happy happy lang,” Martin added.
"House of Lies" airs Mondays to Fridays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
